Rectory Cafe

Disappointed. Must say that the Rectory was much better. I had a Caesar and it used to have pickles and celery, now it barely had a small lime piece. Tuna tacos, tiny and tasteless for 14Cad.

Got there before the dinner rush so we were quickly seated and served. Great selection of carefully prepared and surprisingly healthy food. I had the gazpacho and the ravioli and a chocolate free tart thing and it was excellent. Amazing view/setting. Friendly yet efficient staff. Definitely going back.

I only went for drinks, but I do wish I was able to spend more time there. The patio is such an awesome atmosphere. It is surrounded by large trees and you can see the lake. I just loved the atmosphere. If you are looking on the map when you get therre it is still listed as the rectory, and it doesn't look like much from the front (there is a small patio) but i recommend going in!Im not sure how much or what their indoor seating is like. The outdoor tables and chairs are worn, but everything else was awesome including the staff.

The food was excellent, as was the service and the prices were good, I expected them to be higher as it is on the Island. The patio is shaded so just perfect.

We were in the patio for birthday celebration. I love their atmosphere and service. I ordered watermelon and cucumber salad, small portion but tasty. My friends ordered burger, salad was quite big and burger was yummy.

Just got back from this restaurant.we always enjoy the setting, but today my wife ordered the buddha bowl with chicken , and the chicken was as dry as a popcorn fart..when we mentioned this to the server , he told us " that he would let the kitchen know..." So , that was the end of that experience..

served me a raw salmon that i waited over 20 minutes for AFTER my entire family ate and finished their meals. Server was uneducated and sketchy.

Had the burger special on Sunday, with cheese and peameal bacon, wow I have to say it was perfect in every way, easy to handle, amazing texture and nice grilled flavor, wow again. Kettle chips on the side perfect not too salty. Prompt friendly service. Just a slight minus for the washrooms.

Great location but.... bring a microscope so you can see the portions. They are ridiculously small and overpriced. Not going again. They had a good thing going as The Rectory, but the new name and management is not living up to the same standards.

Exceptional service and delicious nachos. Awsome hidden spot to stop after a long walk in the island. I'll be back to try more food.

Good food but some items are severely over priced. $20 for nachos without any protein! and $12 for a small glass of sangria, smaller than most places in the city. Service is hit or miss depending on where you’re seated and who is serving you.

The food and the view are fine, but service is spotty and the portions are very small. Five slices of cucumber with some dill and yogurt is listed as a "salad." Sides are more akin to garnishes. Also, we've repeatedly had to wait a half an hour or more to receive dessert, and have had to follow up to see what happened to it. One of the only games in town on the island, but be prepared to wait, and to overpay.

Atmosphere is great, beautiful patio. Great tacos, good beer on tap, and kids grilled cheese with chips only $5. Nice spot to relax on the island.

Been here twice. First time was for drinks in the summer, which were very refreshing and fun to experience on their beautiful lake facing patio (5* visit). Returned again on an increasingly breezy fall day. Had to move inside. The vibe was worse, not a very pretty place, tables weren't cleaned between customers, the food was disappointing (2* visit). This is a lovely summer spot, coming not in season was a mistake.

Waited 40 minutes for our food and watched as others who ordered after get the same food we ordered. Food was like warm and burger was over cooked and dry.

The food was really poor and overpriced unfortunately and I don't recommend this place.I ordered ceviche and a salad and it was tasteless, the tuna was not fresh and the nachos were stale.The Pepsi I ordered was either watered down or from an open bottle, which is embarrassing.The place is beautiful, it's a pity that the owners don't really care about serving quality food, ultimately we felt cheated and taken advantage of.The Island Cafe is awesome and just a few minutes down the road.

Some places where vegetables are roasted are smeared. The good thing is that the vegetables are expected to be okay to the body. The vegetable stir-fry sauce tastes good, sweet and sour. Rice must be deducted. Not fresh. Have to left the rice .

A perfect summer day and a delicious lunch at The Riviera (formerly The Rectory). Good service by the friendly staff and authentic Gazpacho soup and tasty pork taco's. If they add a good coffee machine to make expresso's, etc then it will be so much better! Well worth a visit for lunch. On not so nice days, inside is also charming.

We were a large group (25 people) on a Thursday afternoon (casual wedding, regular menu). We were able to reserve about a month in advance, but were still worried about slamming the kitchen. No need to have fretted! Even for such a big group, the kitchen was really timely coming out, and the food was consistently good. Everyone ordered different foods and not one complained about anything, which is a huge compliment for a group that size!. Our server was INCREDIBLE. She brought out pitchers of water immediately (it was hot, so much appreciated!) and our pitchers of Margaritas and Sangria came out pretty fast. She took individual drink orders quickly, and was so good on food orders: not one mistake, not one plate in the wrong place. She was friendly, fun and really patient. You cannot beat having a beautiful afternoon on the Islands while chilling on possibly the best patio in the City. Thank you so much! It was a fabulous time.

The menu is brand new and seems to keep to the island tradition of unique dishes, like Duck Bao, which seems redundant, and an inside joke. It doesn't taste like an inside joke however. The duck is juicy and blends well with the cucumber and sauce. Great charcuterie board to start along with other mouthwatering choices. Wine and beer by the glass or bottle and jug. Staff is amazing and attentive. Linger or eat quickly. It's worth the ferry ride.

Great patio. Yacht Rock Lager is very quaffable.

Good vegetarian choices, cold drinks, and a quiet place away from the city. Win!

We came here to enjoy a drink and an evening meal after a day on the island.Pros: beautiful lakeside viewCons: very slow service, tiny portions, misleading marketing (e.g. A side salad was really a garnish), and expensive pricing for substandard food quality.It's really a pity that the food and service are not better. At least the view is nice.
